Women’s Union Kadri
Kadri is women’s political non-profit democratic union founded on October 12, 1996. They are dedicated to sustainable development of democratic values and focus on gender equality, participatory democracy, and solidarity. Kadri grew out of Estonia’s first women’s partisan political union – the women’s Tallinn social democratic club of “Kibuvits” which was created in December 1992. Social Democratic Party emerged as an obvious partner. However, Kadri also works with other parties and unions if ther goals and ideals overlap.
The Women’s Union has over 450 members and is active in fourteen regions. Any woman who is over eighteen years of age and shares their views may join. General Assembly is the representative body of the union and appoints the president, vice president, board and audit committee for two year terms.
