Social Dems to Make Final Decision on Russian Party Merger
The General Assembly of the Social Democrats will gather in the town of Jõhvi on Sunday to decide whether to merge with the Russian Party in Estonia.
The delegates of the assembly will vote on the merger agreement, which was signed by the chairmen of both parties on January 12 and was already approved by the Russian Party’s congress on January 29.
During the meeting, the chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Sven Mikser, will give a speech on the current political situation in the nation. The secretary general of the Social Democrats, MP Eiki Nestor, will also present the party’s activity report.
In addition, the assembly will adopt a new manifest, explaining the core values of the Social Democrats.
